10th Annual NEP Wiffle Ball Rules
- 4 team round robin begins at 11 a.m. Registration will begin at 10:15 a.m. - Round robin games will be back to back - Round robin schedules/scorecards will be placed at each field 2 players from the team listed beside UMP will umpire the game - Single elimination tournament to follow Brackets will be seeded based on pool play - 6 players on the field at a time 4 fielders, 1 pitcher & 1 catcher Teams can have up to 7 players - Bats and balls provided must be used - Batting order is selected by the team Must stay the same through out the game - Slow to medium overhand pitching Junk pitches are allowed Maximum height of 8' - Strike zone is made of PVC pipe and will be placed 3' behind home plate Dimensions are 20"x28" |
- Any pitch that goes through or hits the strike zone will be considered a strike If a pitch hits the legs of the strike zone, it is a ball - Count will start at 0 strikes an 0 balls 5 Balls = Walk and 3 Strikes = Out Balls hit within the home plate zone will result in a foul Any ball blocked from going into the strike zone will be an automatic strike - Bunting will result in an automatic out - 4 innings per game Maximum game time of 40 minutes Member of home team will keep time - Game will go into extra innings if tied after four innings 10 run rule after any inning - Pitchers mound is out for first base only Runners advancing to any other base must be forced out or tug - No stealing - Sliding into a bag is an automatic out |
PLEASE, NO RUNNING INTO THE FENCE AS IT MAY RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC HOME RUN. UMPIRES WILL MAKE THE FINAL CALL IF THIS OCCURS. CALL WILL BE BASED ON SEVERITY OF THE INFRACTION.
Home Run Derby Rules- Will start when single elimination tournament begins
and will end prior to championship game - $5 per entry Participate an unlimited number of times - Batter will receive two minutes to hit as many home runs as possible - Must provide your own pitcher - Finals will be held prior to championship game Will consist of top five participants - Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place |
